Coverage Breakdown

Your Vehicle’s Coverage Shouldn’t Be a Mystery

You’ve probably heard of a Vehicle Service Contract (VSC) as a way to protect yourself from unexpected repair bills. But what does it actually cover? Too often, drivers are left guessing—or worse, finding out what’s not covered when it’s already too late.

At Cuvrd, we believe in clarity from the start. Our VSCs are designed to protect the parts that matter most—the ones that can cost thousands to repair and are most likely to fail after your factory warranty ends. Below, we break down the key systems our contracts cover so you know exactly what you’re getting.

From tires to tech, a VSC helps protect against the parts that cost the most to fix.

Core Powertrain Components: Covered

The engine, transmission, transfer unit, differential assembly, and drive axles are some of the most vital—and expensive—systems in any vehicle. Repairs to these components are not only costly but can sideline your car for days or even weeks. That’s why they’re foundational to our coverage.

Your contract includes coverage for all internally lubricated engine and transmission parts (like pistons, crankshafts, bearings, and timing components), as well as key components in 4x4 systems such as transfer unit gears, chains, and bushings. It also covers your vehicle’s drivetrain—think axles, CV joints, and driveshafts—ensuring the power from your engine actually makes it to the road.

Cooling, Fuel, and Turbo Systems: Covered

Breakdowns aren’t always dramatic—a failed water pump, blown radiator, or fuel pump issue can stop you just as quickly. That’s why we include the cooling system, fuel delivery system, and turbo/supercharger components in many of our plans.

Covered parts range from thermostats and fans to fuel injectors and pressure regulators, along with turbochargers, boost valves, waste gate actuators, and their related seals and gaskets. These aren’t the flashy systems you think about until they fail—but with a VSC, you don’t have to.

Advanced Electrical and Computer Systems: Covered

Today’s vehicles are loaded with electronic features—and when one fails, it’s rarely cheap to fix. Cuvrd’s contracts include extensive advanced electrical coverage, protecting everything from the alternator and starter motor to powertrain control modules, ignition coils, climate control systems, and even motors for power windows, mirrors, and seats.

We also cover many of the switches, sensors, and actuators that connect it all—things like camshaft sensors, cooling fan motors, and instrument clusters that often go overlooked in limited coverage plans.

Suspension, Steering & Braking Systems: Covered

You may not think about your suspension or steering system until your ride becomes rough or your vehicle starts pulling. Our plans include upper and lower control arms, ball joints, bushings, tie rods, stabilizer bars, and even strut bearing plates.

Braking systems are just as critical. Cuvrd’s VSCs cover components such as ABS modules, calipers, wheel speed sensors, and hydraulic lines—so you’re not stuck with a major repair bill when something crucial fails.

HVAC Systems: Covered

Comfort matters—especially in extreme weather. That’s why we offer protection for major air conditioning and heating system components including compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, and blend door actuators. These systems are expensive to fix and can leave you sweating or freezing without warning.

What’s Not Covered?

We’re upfront about exclusions, too. Our plans don’t cover cosmetic or non-mechanical parts like upholstery, trim, tires, paint, or glass. We also exclude wear-and-tear items and general maintenance like brake pads, wiper blades, oil changes, and spark plugs—things you'd expect to replace regularly anyway.

Why Coverage Like This Matters

Most major vehicle repairs aren’t the result of accidents or abuse—they happen because parts wear out over time. With the average cost of repair continuing to climb, having a plan in place means you don’t have to dip into savings or put off fixing something important.

With a VSC from Cuvrd, you’re not just buying peace of mind—you’re gaining protection from the real-life costs of owning a modern vehicle.
